What's the job?



* You will be responsible to assists clients with the personal care tasks of daily living, including skin care, hair care, mouth care, bathing, bowel and bladder care, positioning and movement, basic wound care, feeding (including special diets) and assistance with medication administration and oxygen

* Adapt to varying degrees of supervision and to the client's requirements and wishes while working within the established service plan..

* Assisting with ambulating and mobilization of patient including practice universal precautions and adheres to WHMIS protocols.

* Performs other related housekeeping tasks as indicated in the individualized written client service pla and recognize, reports safety concerns, equipment malfunction in the home environment and acts accordingly to meet the safety and the protection needs of the Client or Consumer.

* Establish communication with appropriate sources in response to emergency situations.

* You will be responsible for reporting any unusual incidents.

* Responsible for observing, documenting and reporting any emotional or physical changes in the Client's condition to the Client Care Manager/Supervisor

* Attending participates in client care conferences as required.

* Additional responsibilities will be added



What you bring to the job?



* Health Care Aide Certificate.

* Be a 2nd year nursing student preferred or Equivalent.

* Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.

* Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 12 months.

* Able to pass a medical check and testing.

* Availability to work days, evenings and every other weekend.

* Have a valid driver's license and a access to a vehicle.

* Good oral and written communication skills.

* Proven interpersonal and organizational skills.

* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

* Previous community experience is an asset.
