Job Description

Ergonomists employed in the manufacturing sector ensure that tools, machinery and equipment are as safe and easy to use as possible, safeguarding the health, comfort and protection of the people using them.



Our world class manufacturing client located in Alliston, ON is seeking a qualified Ergonomist to fulfill a 4 month contract.



What you'll be doing

* Evaluate Assembly Department Process safety and ergonomic concerns while focusing on the prevention of injuries

* Evaluate and assess safety and ergonomic impact of new model change points utilizing existing Ergonomic Guidelines and risk assessment tools (Job Task Analysis)

* Prepare safety and ergonomic assessment reports for delivery to management

* Assist the manufacturing team in designing processes that reduce or eliminate potential risk

* Develop and drive risk reduction through countermeasure activities to problems identified

* Create and present progress reports to management and stakeholders

* Create and implement project specific activity plans (set project targets/strategies and schedules)

* Drive continuous improvement activities to minimize concerns at mass production startup

* Provide leadership, technical support and mentoring of Department Ergo Coaches (production associates engage and trained in ergonomics) selected to support mass production startup

* Lead/support other groups with ergo/safety analysis and countermeasure implementation



Education, Experience, Availability you offer

* Post-Secondary Degree in Kinesiology, Industrial or Systems Engineering, (emphasis in ergonomics, biomechanics and human factors relevant manufacturing environment) with 1 year relevant experience; or 3 years related work experience

* Strong analytical and project management skills

* Strong communication skills (listening, report and procedure writing, presentations to groups)

* Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

* Able to travel both domestically/internationally, sometimes on short notice

* Flexible to work a variety of shifts, sometimes on short notice

* Flexible to support overtime, sometimes on short notice
