Job Description

Our client is located in Ayr, and is a leading supplier of vitamins/ nutritional solutions for animal nutrition and health, health and personal care and aroma ingredients! We are looking for candidates to work as a Plant Production Operator in a facility in Ayr! As the Production Operator you will be reporting directly to the Production Supervisor and must be able to supervise on-site temporary personnel and assist in the supervision of onsite contractors.



Shift: 10 hour shifts, rotating every two weeks Monday- Thursday Days 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM / Afternoons2:30 PM - 12:00 AM

o Night shift is starting in January* we need individuals who are comfortable with nights as well

Wage: $18.00 / hour + 4% vacation pay paid out every week



What does the role entail?

* Shipping and receiving duties

* Inventory duties: inventory stock levels, perform inventory cycle counts

* Handle raw materials, transport from storage bins, weigh ingredients and add them to the process

* Monitoring/ maintaining / recording on manufacturing equipment and checking all calibration of scales daily

* Run the control room as well as create SAP/SCORE production batch sheets and queues if and when applicable, bagging and stacking goods and must also be able to operate Production Enlabel system

* Sampling products to ensure quality is up to standard

* Examines finished premix products to determine consistency and blend characteristics for future production continual improvement opportunities.

* Conduct training of new employees and manage their performance

* Perform minor maintenance work on equipment when necessary

* Report issues to Production Supervisor/ Support Manager in investigations

* Recommend improvements to product appearance, flow and packaging

* Perform regular safety inspections take part in monthly safety meetings



What you bring?

* High school diploma or GED equivalent

* Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out, confined spaces, dust explosion, forklift, respirator warehouse training

* Must be able to operate a forklift

* Must have good reading, writing and basic math skills

* Good communication skills to relay information to the next shift

* Ability to operate computers / terminals / scanners

* Ability to adapt to new situations

* Minimum 6 months related experience preferred
