Job Description

Manpower currently has openings for an assembly worker in Nebraska City starting ASAP. If interested please call 307 371 0279.


2nd Shift

3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, overtime after the shift

Pay rate: $18.00/hr


This position involves the performance of Final Assembly operations such as installing index boxes and badges, packing and fulfilling various tasks associated with the back packing line cell.


*Visually inspect all meters and materials at each station to insure a quality product.

*Verify and process order sheets.

Remove meter from line, assemble badges to meter and drive down with lobster gun. Insure proper sequence on badges and first/last badge # is on order sheet. Install hexagrams, AMR's, enscans, and specials as required. Build and program hexagrams, AMR's, enscans, and specials.

*Install indexes with pneumatic screwdriver.

*Set-up and operate foam melt machine to apply foam gasket and powder to box. Clean track and pallets with MEK.

*Put screws in index box by hand on special orders and drive down with air driver. Pack index boxes in cartons for shipping.

*Put in rest of rivets and drive down rest of screws - quality check hexagrams - place on other line - take trays to front of line.

Insert top plugs, and index box plugs with a plugger (bumble bee).

*Process special sealing procedures on all meters.

*Pre-stamp serial numbers on tags or labels as required.

*Insert index box plugs, fold boxes, insert meter, push down line to printer where the box is stamped, taped, and packed. Push to pack area.

*Stamp tubes and cartons and assemble egg crates as required. Assemble decking, top lids, and separators.

*Write order numbers, serial numbers, and skid numbers on pallets as well as any other necessary information.

*Pack as required.

*Remove from mono-rail the hooks, badge boxes and swivels that have excessive paint on them and replace with those that have been cleaned.

*Prepare weekly parts usage list and make available to all packing line operators.

*Check orders for special parts such as decals, tags, etc. to assure these parts are available prior to meter assembly, and apply to meters as required.

*General and preventative maintenance as required, includes changing light bulbs, oiling and greasing equipment.

*Follow-up to verify completion of orders.

*Use of computer is required - includes scanning enscans, typing AMR's, and changing over enscan readers.

*Haul out trash. Knowledge on how to operate both compactors.

*Provide parts and material as needed.

*Process all special orders as needed.

*Check torque as required.

*Rotation is the ultimate goal of this cell.
