Job Description

Engineer & Maintenance Manager opportunity available with an exceptional employer with a global imprint. Position available due to retirement. GROWTH opportunity - Seeking an individual who is driven to move into a senior level operational type role.

The Engineering/ Maintenance Manager will have responsibility for developing, implementing and maintaining manufacturing and plant infrastructure improvement initiatives for the facility and provide expertise and leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety, compliance, quality, cost and reliability.

The position will have 2 direct reports (maintenance & engineering supervisors) and lead employees (20-30) while effectively managing outside contractors. The successful candidate must have proven leadership competencies and potential to move into higher level operational roles.


* Safety & Culture . - Be a change agent and actively promote safety activities and participation within the organization.

* Strictly adhere to plant safety, housekeeping, and 6S efforts.

* Provide strategic leadership and exemplify and drive our Market Based Management (MBM®) culture.

* Drive a culture change which empowers employees to understand and accept their accountabilities.

* Lead the team to achieve and maintain compliance with respect to the facility's EHS standards. Operations Excellence & Performance Management

* Interface with Plant Leadership Team to develop capital and expense projects to reduce cost, increase

capacity, improve safety, and sustain operations.

* Lead a facilities engineering, reliability while effectively managing outside contractors.

* Empower team members to understand and accept their accountabilities by ensuring effective

organizational structure and roles, responsibilities and expectations are clearly defined.

* Experience evaluating, prioritizing and implementing capital projects.


* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.

* 7 - 10 years of progressive experience working in a manufacturing environment leading into management, industry preference within the pulp & paper, CPG

* Proven Leadership and strategic competency required.

* 3 years of supervisory/management experience working within maintenance and facilities.

* Experience with planning and leading capital projects.

* Experience in project management and all facets of plant equipment and systems.

* Knowledge and experience with maintenance management systems (MP2) and concepts including PM

Asset Strategies.

* Software experience including Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD.
