Job Description

Requirements:

 The equivalent to a High School diploma.

 Two (2) years of customer service experience disseminating information to the public face to face, preferably in a role similar to that of a Transit Ambassador, Brand Ambassador, Community Ambassador, Community Engagement Officer, Community Liaison, etc.

 Able to pass a 10-panel drug test, in accordance with California law.

 Proof of American citizenship or authorization to work in the United States for any employer.

 The physical ability and stamina to stand and perform activities in environmentally diverse situations for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours); vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

 Able to work in outdoor weather conditions (rain or shine) and around construction activity.

 Able to fill out and complete daily written reports.

 Able to use a provided electronic device (smart phone) to both communicate with appropriate personnel and document maintenance issues and all interactions with the public.

 Maintain a clean and professional appearance and wear the uniform (black pants, white shirt, black belt, black shoes, and a provided safety vest with the agency logo) at all times while working.

 All Ambassadors MUST participate in and pass the Training Program facilitated by JBR in coordination with the respective agency issuing the work.



Details of Responsibilities:

 Represent and promote the image of SFMTA, Caltrain and other entities as-requested.

 Distribute transit information to the general public. Answer inquiries in regard to transportation services, routes, schedules, stop locations, trip planning, fares, etc. Communicate information accurately and effectively to customers

 Utilize a street map directory, computer terminal, other transit information and other reference materials.
