Job Description

Manpower has a Temp to Hire Scale Operator Position Available immediately in the Fort Worth Area

The primary responsibilities of this position are to identify, weigh & document all in-bound and out-bound metal shipments to the facility.

This position would perform operating procedures to receive and exit vehicles through incoming and outgoing scales.

Position will be working in outdoor/industrial environment along with usage of computer skills for reports, ticketing, etc.

Successful candidate will also have proficient computer skills, data entry and also be using touch screen to record information.

If you have strong communication skills, computer skills, ability to lift up to 50 lbs and can work in inclement weather, this is an excellent temp to hire opportunity!

Bilingual/English-Spanish a plus, but not required.

Any type of Scale-weights operation is also a plus.

Background check and Drug screen required

Education Requirement: High School Diploma or GED

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Price steel, variety of steel scrap

Provide tickets for customers

Accurate ID of material to assign a correct value

Assess by grade accurate weight of material

Walk-up customer service: driver's license or accurate documentation and back-up for materials sold

Upon pick-up of scrap outbound: ID the proper carrier to pick-up correct materials/container

Track who's who with ticket materials, properly ID vehicles and person, request legally required documentation of customers

Self-manage accurate tracking, self-regulate flow of incoming shipments

Security screen - first point of contact to yard. Identify purpose of visit, direct customers, delivery etc.

Provides customer service & works with buyers and operational staff to insure material meets customer specs.

Accurate record keeping of all documents related to deliveries and shipments.

Scan driver's license or accurate documentation & back-up for materials sold

Upon pick-up of outbound scrap, direct and ID the proper carrier and contract numbers to pick up scheduled materials & containers

Verify all purchases meet federal, state, and local regulatory requirements

Work with dispatchers and Transportation Department to insure proper record keeping requirement for company-owned trucks

Assist in collecting and maintaining all documentation related to scaled loads

Self-manage accurate tracking & self-regulate flow of all inbound and outbound materials

Security screen when acting as first point of contact to yard. Identify purpose of visit, direct customers, deliveries, etc.
