The Life Claim Customer Care Representative role located in Northbrook, IL will provide support and assistance to ensure the company delivers on its promise to help restore the customer's lives after they've had a loss.

You will be expected to:

* Put the customer at the center of what you do.

* Work in a collaborative team environment to handle large call volumes.

* Learn and apply knowledge of insurance contracts, claim procedures and customer service philosophies.

* Obtain information regarding the death of an insured via the telephone and create a new loss claim via the OTIS claim system.

* Document notes on the OTIS claim system by utilizing basic grammar and spelling.

* Respond to questions and/or concerns from Allstate agents and customers.

* Interpret and apply concepts based on claim policies and procedures.

* Maintain confidentiality of customer and agent information.

* Support pending follow-ups and death audit searches.

* Empathize, actively listen to and deal sensitively and professionally with customers and agents; communicate clearly, professionally and empathetically.

* Have good organizational skills and be able to multi-task.

* Possess intermediate skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook); type 45+ wpm.

* Use Atlas mainframe and Cyberlife system (prior knowledge is beneficial).

* Maintain acceptable attendance according to the company attendance policy.
