Job Description

Heavy Equipment Technicians



Manpower is currently hiring Heavy Equipment Technicians to fulfill full-time, permanent positions in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This position will report to the Shift Supervisor and is responsible for the overhaul, assembly, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of construction equipment of all sizes and brands.



Position is based out of the Fort McMurray branch, working rotational shifts of 14 days on and 14 days off. Camp and /or flights are not offered for this position, however company housing is available. Your own transportation will be required to travel to the branch office.



Summary of Key Responsibilities (Job functions include but are not limited to):

* Perform assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs, and complete overhauls on the Komatsu 980E Haul Truck, and other company supported equipment on site

* Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized or other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required

* Make recommendations regarding extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement

* Interpret work order and technical manuals

* Complete job specific reports and paperwork as needed

* Work remotely in adverse weather conditions

* Lifting up to 50lbs



Qualifications and Requirements:

* Must have Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification or Journeyperson Heavy

* Equipment Technician Off-Road certification

* Grade 12 diploma or GED

* Valid and clean driver's license

* Experience in repair and maintenance of heavy duty equipment

* Experience with Komatsu Equipment would be considered an asset

* Strong commitment to safety and customer service focused

* Able to work safely in a challenging environment with minimal supervision

* Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics



Benefits are available after 2 months. Travel allowance is provided and should choose not to live in company housing, a monthly allowance is provided.
