Manpower is in need of a Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic to join our Manpower Team!



Maintenance Technician / Machine Repairman

Murfreesboro, TN

$25 per hour

Shift 3 - 9:30pm-8:00am

6 month contract for LOA

40 hours a week (OT may be needed)

Sunday through Thursday night



Job Description

Looking for someone who has the skills to do general mechanical maintenance, trouble shoot PLC programs, has experience with conveyor systems, motors, pneumatics, AB plc's, HMI screens, and general electrical systems. Should be a quick learner, and willing to work 3rd shift as well as weekends as required.



*Installs, alters, electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors, transformers and other such equipment.

*Test, maintains and evaluates equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers and pressure gauges. Troubleshoot PLC's with computer terminal.

*Perform trouble shooting of faulty equipment and perform minor repairs as required and see to general maintenance of system.

*Performs skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering and plumbing.

*Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves and motors.

*Adjusts repairs and replaces electrical and electronic pneumatic relays.

*Prepares accurate records for preventive maintenance.

*Performs related work as required.



Preferred Skills, Education, Experience:



Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.



Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.



Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.



Other Skills and Abilities:

Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs. Ability to create visual aids for communication purposes. Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment used in the trades involved.

Ability to detect defects in equipment and to make proper repairs or adjustments. Ability to supervise a small group of semiskilled workers. Ability to interpret and work from pencil sketches and diagrams.

Work involves considerable stooping, bending and working in overhead structures and on scaffolds. Considerable glare emits from work, requiring the wearing of personal protective equipment. Exposed to moderate burns and exposed to flying objects such as chips and scale. Accident hazard can involve severe cuts and bruising. Job site must be carefully enclosed to prevent injury to others from sparks and flying chips. Must be willing to work day shift and night shift. Duties also include assisting in the day-to-day management of the Environmental Management System. Following all environmental work instruction and / or cleaning up spills or other duties required of the Environmental First Response Team.
